Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Reliability & Test Engineer to join our DoorDash Labs team in San Francisco. You will develop and validate unmanned platforms at system and component levels, partnering with EE, ME, and Autonomy teams to ensure robust hardware and reliable performance.

This role emphasizes hands-on test method development, fixture design, and thorough failure analysis using FRACAS, FMEA, and HIL simulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in reliability validation or hardware testing for robotics, unmanned platforms, or automated vehicle systems.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
• Hands-on with environmental chambers, vibration tables, DAQ systems, CAD and shop tools.
• Proficient with Python for automating test procedures and understanding autonomy software vs hardware.
• Strong communicative and analytical skills with rigorous testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement validation strategies with Python automation and test fixtures.
• Oversee experiments across internal facilities and external labs.
• Translate reliability requirements into metrics for mechanical, electrical, and software sub-systems; lead FMEA/FTA sessions.
• Lead FRACAS investigations to drive design iterations and prevent field issues.
• Collaborate with autonomy and engineering teams to validate sensor performance and HIL simulations.
