Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Wisconsin is seeking a Precision Fastening Reliability Engineer to contribute to the life cycle of power tool products. You will define test methods and product requirements to ensure durable, disruptive, and market-leading products across development and mass production.

The role requires 5+ years in reliability, test engineering, and quality, with hands-on data acquisition and software experience (Python, LabVIEW, Minitab). Travel up to 10% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical or related)
• 5+ years in reliability, test engineering, and quality
• Strong analytical problem-solving and statistics (DOE, sampling, regression, reliability, FMEA)
• Hands-on with data acquisition systems and software (Python, LabVIEW)
• Experience with life data analysis and reliability distributions (e.g. Weibull)
• Knowledge of Gage R&R and Process/Machine Capability
• Troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and test automation
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
• Willingness to travel ~10% (domestic and international)

Responsibilities

• Be subject matter expert in precision fastening reliability; define test methods and product requirements
• Develop CTQ requirements from product management and user research
• Collaborate with engineering/marketing to ensure reliability and quality specifications
• Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing
• Implement testing best practices within the team
• Interact with global suppliers involved in product development
• Track multiple projects and ensure schedule adherence
• Research published standards to inform new product categories
• Develop test procedures and plans to evaluate performance
• Document test plans, procedures, and best practices for laboratories
• Perform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data
• Summarize results with statistics and present conclusions to stakeholders
• Communicate results and implications to technical and non-technical leaders
• Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Collaborate with global testing, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve issues
