Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Bagdad, AZ seeks a Reliability/Maintenance Engineer to identify constraints, improve process reliability, and lead root-cause analyses.

You will oversee maintenance planning, performance metrics, and safety-oriented engineering solutions on-site. The role requires a degree in engineering and several years of related experience, with proficiency in MS Office and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years related experience OR Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 years related experience.
• Proficiency of MS Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
• Ability to listen and communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
• Customer focused to improve equipment and process reliability.
• Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance practices.
• Experience with engineering design drawings and schematics.
• Self-starter with integrity and safety awareness.
• Understand safety, legality and quality.

Responsibilities

• Identify system constraints and pursue elimination through continuous improvement.
• Ensure continuous production by reducing equipment failures and improving process reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions or technologies.
• Research reliability processes and methods to predict and improve reliability.
• Evaluate processes and equipment on-site and define department expectations for maintenance.
• Review and establish KPIs for equipment health and performance.
• Identify PM opportunities and develop maintenance plans via FMEA.
• Analyze CMMS data to monitor health indicators and generate reports.
• Provide safety insights and recommend engineering solutions to eliminate hazards.

What You Will Do

• Identify system constraints and proactively pursues elimination of them through the continuous improvement cycle.


• Ensure continuous production is uninterrupted by equipment failures and reduces production costs through development of maintenance methods to improve process efficiency and reliability.


• Lead others and/or performs root cause analysis of equipment failures. Acts as a subject matter expert as required and assists in the identification and implementation of corrective actions or technologies.


• Research new reliability processes and identifies methods to predict and improve reliability.


• Perform onsite evaluation of existing processes and equipment and sets expectations within the department for precision maintenance.


• Review and establish Key Performance Indices for equipment.


• Identify PM opportunities and maintenance plans by leading failure mode and effect analysis.


• Analyze current CMMS data for equipment health indicators and identifies reports to measure health indicators.


• Proactively develops and provides safety perspective for equipment and processes; makes recommendations of engineering solutions or methods to eliminate hazards.


• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in Engineering, OR


• Master’s degree in appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in Engineering.


• Proficiency of MS Office suite including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project


• Ability to listen and understand information and ideas and express thought and ideas clearly and concisely through oral and written communication.


• Customer focused to provide quality service to improve equipment and process reliability.


• Knowledge and understanding of reliability centered maintenance practices.


• Experience with engineering design drawings and schematics


• Self-starter with solid integrity


• Understand the importance of safety, legality and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) experience


• Maintenance and Reliability experience


• Previous Leadership experience


• PI vision Power BI experience


• Data Analysis experience

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$97,500-$138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
