Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in southeastern Arizona is seeking a Reliability Engineer to review, investigate and recommend solutions for engineering projects, while advancing safety, efficiency and environmental protection across the site.

The role requires a engineering degree with experience, knowledge of probability and statistics, and understanding of reliability engineering principles. You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and other engineering staff and may participate in site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering with 3 years' related experience, or Master’s with 2 years.
• Knowledge of probability and statistics.
• Knowledge of Reliability Engineering principles.
• Able to research and analyze difficult information and draw valid conclusions.
• Develop awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and make recommendations on Reliability Engineering projects.
• Use new technology to upgrade safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls, and environmental protection.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and other Engineering staff to improve safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate project activities with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment availability and KPIs.
• Prepare and review project documentation for accuracy.
• Participate in small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects.
• Administer contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• Develop knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relevant to the assignment.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Do

• Review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Reliability Engineering projects.
• With minimum supervision utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the environment.
• Participate with Operations and Maintenance departments and other Engineering staff in problem solving efforts to improve safety, efficiencies, cost controls and protection of the environment.
• Coordinate project activities with Operations and Maintenance departments to improve equipment maintenance availability and other KPIs.
• Ensure appropriate documentation for assigned projects are prepared and review documentation for accuracy.
• Participate on small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects.
• Administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
• Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Bachelor's degree in related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, OR
• Master's degree in related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in Engineering
• Knowledge in probability and statistical analysis
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Reliability Engineering
• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• Completion of Reliability Engineering courses
• SMRP or CMRP Certification
• Six Sigma experience or Certification

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$87,500-$120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
