Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Senior Program Manager, Development Testing Operations to own release test procedures and drive the testing program for software releases. You will partner with Engineering, Safety, and Release Management to ensure tests gate releases and feed learnings back into procedures.

The role emphasizes process rigor, repeatability, and continuous improvement, not just getting the release out the door.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, QA, Release Engineering, or related roles.
• Experience owning or improving test procedures, QA processes, or release/quality gates in a technical environment.
• Ability to understand how software releases move through testing, including regression testing and staged rollout concepts.
• Experience driving process improvement and change within cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple test cycles and priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication translating test results into risk/status reports.

Responsibilities

• Own release test procedures and continuously improve test plans, checklists, and SOPs for gating software releases.
• Communicate release timelines across engineering and operations with stakeholders.
• Ensure operational excellence in test execution with clear pass/fail criteria and audit test runs.
• Triage failures and gaps into actionable engineering tickets and track to resolution.
• Provide input to release gating decisions with test evidence that is current.
• Compare test coverage across release stages to identify blind spots before production.
• Lead initiatives to streamline test scope, reduce cycle time, and balance coverage with speed.
• Report status and risk to leadership on testing progress and readiness.
