Job summary

Aurora's Senior Program Manager for Development Testing Operations will own the release test procedures, validating software releases with rigor before fleet deployment. You will drive operational excellence and ensure feedback loops to engineering are closed.

This hands‑on role emphasizes process rigor, repeatability, and continuous improvement, partnering with Engineering, Safety, and Release Management to gate releases and achieve reliable, high‑quality software shipped to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in program, project, QA, release engineering, or related roles.
• Experience owning or improving test procedures, QA processes, or release gates in a technical environment.
• Ability to understand how software releases move through a testing pipeline (regression testing, staged rollout).
• Experience driving process improvement and change management in cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and multi-cycle management skills with clear reporting.
• Comfort operating in safety/quality‑critical environments and on‑call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Own release test procedures and maintain test plans, checklists, and SOPs used to gate software releases.
• Communicate release timelines clearly with engineering and operations stakeholders.
• Ensure testing excellence by defining pass/fail criteria and auditing test runs.
• Triage test failures into actionable engineering tickets and track to resolution.
• Support go/no-go decisions with complete, current test evidence.
• Identify coverage gaps across test stages to catch issues before production.
• Drive continuous improvement to balance scope, speed, and cost.
• Report testing progress and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
