Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape the next-generation Release Platform and DevOps tooling for 3000+ engineers. You will design scalable frameworks, enable self-service deployment, and implement governance, security, and observability across release pipelines.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with platform, security, and infrastructure teams, and drive adoption of open-source technologies to improve reliability and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience developing internal developer platforms and DevOps tooling.
• Experience with multi-cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerized services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Release Platform services and tooling for automated delivery.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Implement policy-as-code governance with Open Policy Agent (OPA) to enforce rules and gates.
• Create self-service deployment workflows and security integrations for developers.
• Embed security guardrails and auditability with Cyber and Release Control teams.
• Improve observability via monitoring, logging, and tracing across pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and review code to uphold engineering excellence.
