Job summary

JET Electrical Testing, LLC is seeking an experienced Relay Test Technician for work in New Jersey, with some travel to nearby states. Qualifications

• High level of technical expertise in electric transmission and distribution equipment.
• Full knowledge of NEC, NESC, Fall Protection, LOTO, OSHA, Confined Spaces, ARC Flash, Shock Hazards and Safe Work Practices.
• Electrical Engineer degree or trained technician with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with circuit breaker timing equipment, HV AC/DC test gear, high current/low impedance ohmmeters, DMMs and relay test equipment.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel, Windows; AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review print packages for large utility projects and verify the design is correct.
• Lead a group of electricians to perform wiring in active relay control buildings.
• Generate isolation lists to perform work safely and without inadvertent operation.
• Perform troubleshooting and identify issues for corrective action and repairs.
• Verify SCADA inputs/outputs and relay wiring; check CT wiring and polarity.
• Update project drawings as needed; CAD updates performed by others from marked prints.
