Asplundh Tree Expert Co is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician in Ankeny, Iowa, to supervise electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting relays in substations. The successful candidate will lead safety briefings, analyze power circuits, and perform installation of control circuits.

Qualifications

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on the job site, identifying hazards.
• Perform installation and testing of substation control circuits.
• Analyze power circuit protection schemes.
• Conduct end-to-end relay testing using relay test software.
• Train and qualify Relay Technician I, II, or Relay Engineer I.

Skills

Installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays

Troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls

Knowledge of relay test software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education

Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/Electronic technology

Military Experience

4-year Engineering Degree
