Ampirical is seeking a Relay Protection and Controls Engineer in San Francisco to oversee the design and procurement of protective relaying equipment for substations and transmission lines. The role includes ensuring adherence to client standards and providing field support during construction.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, over 4 years of experience in the Utilities or Energy industry, and familiarity with industry-specific software. Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience engineering/designing electrical systems within the Utilities or Energy industry.
• Knowledge of substation relay protection and control schemes.
• Experience working with electric utility or petrochemical industries.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper protection and control schemes for substations.
• Select protection devices for equipment within substations.
• Prepare scopes of work and estimates for substations.
• Ensure maintenance and adherence to customer standards.
• Create drawing packages for relay protection.
