Job summary

Vanguard seeks a Senior Relationship Manager to oversee complex recordkeeping and investment‑only sponsor relationships. You will guide strategic planning, engage executives, and design tailored service solutions to deliver outstanding client outcomes.

You will build senior relationships, navigate large organizations, and manage ambiguity while driving loyalty and long‑term partnerships. A regulatory license is required, and the role is remote with West Coast residency and travel expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years related work experience.
• Three years experience in Financial Services and Relationship Management preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in employer-sponsored retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), rollover, participant engagement, retirement readiness, or related workplace solutions.
• Recordkeeping (retirement plan administration) savvy is required.
• Demonstrated ability to develop senior/executive level relationships, navigate sophisticated organizations, and manage ambiguity.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC).
• In particular the 6 & 63 will be required.

Responsibilities

• Apply a deep understanding of client history, strategic priorities, and evolving needs to manage Vanguard’s most complex recordkeeping relationships.
• Identify opportunities to elevate the client experience and strengthen loyalty through proactive guidance.
• Lead the resolution of complex client issues and develop forward‑looking solutions.
• Engage internal experts to design tailored service solutions for clients.
• Maintain expert knowledge of Vanguard funds, products, services, and competitive positioning.
• Support enterprise initiatives and participate in special projects as needed.
