Job summary

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst at Catholic Health supports the Manager of Government Reimbursement in preparing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, analyzing reimbursement data, and coordinating information across Catholic Health entities and the Government Reimbursement team.

This role serves as a liaison with outside auditors and consultants regarding DSH, bad debt, and wage index, acts as the main contact for Medicare/Medicaid government audits for hospitals and long-term care, and assists

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field.
• In lieu of degree, five to seven years of directly related experience may be considered.
• Three or more years of healthcare reimbursement or Medicare/Medicaid cost report experience.
• Knowledge of DSH, bad debt and wage index is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager of Government Reimbursement in preparing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
• Analyze reimbursement data and coordinate information between Catholic Health entities and the Government Reimbursement team.
• Serve as liaison with outside auditors and consultants regarding DSH, bad debt and wage index.
• Assist in reimbursement optimization, reporting compliance, and training/re mentoring reimbursement analysts.

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst supports the Manager of Government Reimbursement in preparing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, analyzing reimbursement data, and coordinating information between Catholic Health entities and the Government Reimbursement team. The Senior analyst acts as a liaison with outside auditors and consultants in relation to DSH, bad debt and wage index. The senior analyst also is the main contact for Medicare and Medicaid government audits for the hospitals and Longterm care. The role also supports reimbursement optimization, reporting compliance, and assisting in training and mentoring reimbursement analysts.

Responsibilities

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field required; or in lieu of degree, five (5) - seven (7) years of directly related experience may be considered.

Experience

• Three plus years of healthcare reimbursement or Medicare/Medicaid cost report experience, with third party reimbursement regulations required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Strong background in quantitative analysis, cost and product line concepts, personal computer and systems development


• Strong Excel skills required


• Knowledge of Lawson and Epic systems desired


• Knowledge of hospital and Longterm care Cost Report software


• Basis accounting knowledge required


• Ability to work effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
