Job summary

American Electric Power in Columbus, OH is seeking a Regulatory Consultant to develop direct and rebuttal testimony, lead regulatory projects, and communicate complex regulatory matters to management and regulatory bodies. You will analyze revenue requirements, rate design, and policy issues affecting electric utilities, while guiding strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

The role is on-site at the AEP headquarters in Columbus, OH or Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with subsequent regulatory or analytical experience.
• Experience with regulatory testimony, filings, and interactions with commissions.
• Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops direct and rebuttal testimony and supports witnesses.
• Leads regulatory practice activities within the unit.
• Presents complex regulatory topics to management and regulatory bodies.
• Analyzes complex regulatory matters including revenue requirements and rate design.
• Leads projects with measurable goals and participates in strategic initiatives.
• Addresses internal and external regulatory issues, guiding solutions.
