Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a lead regulatory attorney to provide strategic legal guidance on state and federal regulatory matters, and to direct legal staff across major operational units. You will manage complex regulatory projects, represent the company in court and hearings, and coordinate with outside counsel while guiding policy and risk management decisions.

Applicants should have a JD, bar admission, and extensive regulatory experience, including energy-related regulatory

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and bar exam in at least one state.
• Iowa license within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to major operational units and regulatory teams.
• Lead and manage complex regulatory matters and projects across jurisdictions.
• Represent the company in court and regulatory hearings.
• Oversee outside counsel and train staff attorneys and support staff.
• Draft and negotiate agreements; counsel on compliance, IP, and risk management.
