Position Profile

Reporting to the Vice President, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, you will be responsible for drafting policy submissions on telecommunications and broadcasting matters before the FCC and other public bodies. You will also be called upon to provide advice to our business, and will collaborate with team members across the 13 U.S. states in which we operate to advance our interests. This is a position of considerable strategic importance, since effective regulatory advocacy and compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations is essential to the successful pursuit of our business objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Acting as primary point of contact on regulatory matters at Breezeline, including on issues relating to the provision of broadband, wireline and wireless telephony, and video services.
  • Drafting Breezeline’s submissions for public proceedings conducted before administrative and government bodies, including the FCC.
  • Delivering timely analysis of regulatory rules and decisions and assessing proposed regulatory strategies.
  • Advising senior management and their business units on new legislation at the federal and state levels, regulations and supporting compliance activities.
  • Supporting public affairs and government relations activities by providing strategic input and subject matter expertise.
  • Ensuring regulatory filing compliance.
  • Serving as Breezeline representative to external groups and trade associations, as required.
  • Liaising with external counsel as needed to address complex legal and regulatory issues and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Qualifications
  • Possess 4+ years experience practicing law.
  • Demonstrated excellence in both written advocacy and oral communication.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage complex legal matters involving cross-functional stakeholders, prioritize concurrent assignments, and exercise sound judgment under significant time constraints.
  • Adept at evaluating and balancing business imperatives against regulatory considerations, and formulating legally sound solutions that advance organizational objectives.
