Job summary

Nissan is seeking a Principal Engineer / Engineer in Governmental & Regulatory Affairs to lead official submissions with U.S. federal, state, and local governments on safety and technology topics.

You will coordinate between regulatory and engineering teams to forecast regulatory trends and maintain corporate regulatory forecasts. You will prepare responses to inquiries (NHTSA, etc.), represent Nissan in industry groups, mentor staff, and communicate complex topics clearly to leadership and

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert in automotive safety and regulatory processes.
• 5+ years of enterprise Government Affairs experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication with external and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Fully prepare and manage official submissions to NHTSA and other regulators.
• Lead responses to Federal and State inquiries and Nissan public comments.
• Communicate complex regulatory topics across internal teams and external groups.
• Mentor colleagues and build networks with technical SMEs and governmental contacts.
• Coordinate meetings between R&D and external agencies as needed.
