Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is seeking a Principal-level Regulatory Accounting Leader to drive enterprise-level regulatory reporting, governance, and controls. You will influence senior leaders, shape data integrity, and guide filing strategies across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities include leading complex rate-case work, providing expert technical support, and shaping the operating model for regulatory accounting. A strong collaboration with FP&A, Legal, and Tax is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 8+ years in accounting, regulatory accounting, or related finance roles.
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with complex regulatory filings and data requests.
• Proficiency in Excel, data reconciliation, and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the most complex regulatory filings, rate-case support, audits, and data requests.
• Advise on regulatory accounting matters and cross-functional initiatives.
• Set standards for source-to-file traceability and documentation.
• Provide technical review over schedules, reconciliations, and filing support.
• Interpret FERC USOA, NARUC guidance, ASC 980 considerations.
• Mentor Analysts and drive governance improvements.
