Job summary

Liberty Utilities, part of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., seeks a Manager, Rates and Regulatory Affairs to lead regulatory filings and compliance across the East region. You will manage relationships with local regulatory commissions and oversee rate making, revenue requirements, and cost recovery programs while guiding a team of Analysts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in regulatory or an adjacent function
• Advanced understanding of revenue requirement and cost recovery programs
• Ability to evaluate team strengths and weaknesses, conduct skills-gap analysis and develop analysts' capabilities
• Ability to thrive through transformation processes and execute through organizational change
• Willingness to contribute individually alongside team leadership

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory applications and filings to obtain permits, licenses, certificates, authorizations, and rate approvals
• Lead general rate case strategy and processes
• Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities
• Interact with commission staff and participate in industry forums to influence regulatory policies
• Align regulatory strategies with local functional areas to maximize shareholder value
• Lead rate making activities and plan for revenue requirements and cost recovery
• Develop strategies for revenue recovery of capital and operating expenses
• Represent Liberty Utilities in industry associations and as primary witness on filings

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics
