Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas seeks a registered nurse to coordinate patient care using the nursing practice model. The RN assesses patients, develops individualized care plans, and evaluates responses, delegating tasks per the Texas Nursing Practice Act.

Must demonstrate effective communication and leadership, including precepting staff. The role requires a current RN license or valid compact license and BLS certification; two years of nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least two years of nursing experience.
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or a valid Compact RN license.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains positive working relationships with Parkland internal and external customers and the health care team.
  • Completes accurate documentation in patient care records and hospital documents.
  • Seeks direction from more experienced staff and serves as Charge Nurse on rotation as necessary.
  • Serves as a preceptor or trainer to newer nursing staff members.
  • Delivers patient-centered care and provides education to patients and families.
