Job summary

ERCOT in Taylor, TX is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead a team conducting ERCOT's Independent Reviews of transmission system upgrades ranging from $50 million to over $1 billion, including mentoring engineers and reporting to management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 5+ years of related experience; PE preferred. You will collaborate across ERCOT departments, drive process improvements, and represent ERCOT with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years job related work experience and 1 year in a leadership role preferred in excess of degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team that develops and coordinates the ERCOT Independent Reviews of transmission system upgrades costing from $50 million to over $1 billion by conducting analyses and stakeholder reviews.
• Overseas steady state power flow contingency analyses
• Serves as the recognized technical expert for the department within and outside the organization
• Provides on-the-job training, mentoring or oversight of the work of other engineers/analysts as required
• Responds to executive and management inquiries and special reporting requests
• Responds to NSO requests and ensures complete evaluation of potential System Reliability Need and exit strategies for RMR contracts
• Collaborate with other ERCOT departments to select and implement system changes as needed
• Communicate results of analyses to appropriate stakeholders and management
• Examines, analyzes, and determines efficiency improvements for departmental processes and procedures
• Serves as departmental representative on cross-functional teams
• Serves as quality assurance resource within and outside the department
• Builds professional relationships internally and externally
• Leads project and audit work as assigned by management
