Job summary

Kona Community Hospital seeks a West Hawaii Regional Controller who will report to the Regional CFO and oversee the financial health of the region. The role manages accounting, forecasting, reporting, and controls to ensure accurate monthly statements and sound financial operations.

The position requires strong leadership, coordination with the corporate office, and effective collaboration with vendors and external partners to support regional goals and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of accounting or financial management experience, including supervisory experience.
• Healthcare or hospital accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting software and strong financial reporting skills.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement finance policies and procedures.
• Develop annual operating, capital, and cash flow budgets.
• Oversee cash flow management for the Region.
• Oversee monthly and annual close processes and reporting of financial statements.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and automate finance-related processes.
• Direct the annual financial audit process and other required audits.
• Direct the annual cost report for the West Hawaii Region facilities.
• Lead special projects or programs and participate in hospital initiatives.
• Maintain liaison with Region, Corporate Office, vendors and external parties.
