Job summary

OHLA USA in Irvine, CA is seeking a Regional Chief Estimator to lead all aspects of the estimating process for heavy civil projects. The role requires evaluating drawings and specs, coordinating subcontractor bids, and presenting value-engineering options to support competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in heavy civil estimating, a construction or engineering background, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English – written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of Estimating process.
• Conduct thorough analysis of drawings and specifications, ensuring required information is provided.
• Perform detailed project cost estimate using estimating software such as HCSS.
• Research selected products from a cost and constructability perspective.
• Solicit sub-contractor pricing and bids for different trades in preparation of cost estimate.
• Review progress and construction documents for constructability. Lead and participate in discussion regarding alternate detail and materials for specific areas or trades.
• Provide and present value engineering options and costs.
• Provide and present estimating productions and scheduling.
• Coordinate administrative staff in sending documents to vendors.
