Job summary

Google is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer within Data Center Services to drive consistency in technical planning and execution across North America. You will act as a trusted advisor to on-site execution teams, sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement across projects.

You will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in your specialty, including cooling and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
• 12 years of experience in electrical design, operations, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
• 12 years of experience as a practicing engineer.
• 5 years of experience in leadership roles.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support and leadership to on-site DCS teams across North America, sharing lessons learned, best practices, and advocating continuous improvement.
• Represent DCS in the development, implementation, and management of electrical designs at the site and regional portfolio level, from Basis of Design to construction documents.
• Act as escalation point for on-site engineers for RFIs, ensuring alignment between Google's requirements and the design.
• Work with core engineering to provide site-specific requirements during Basis of Design development and coordinate system-level schematics.
• Provide leadership to on-site DCS engineers, general contractors, and vendors to manage site-level power system issues during project execution.
