Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Regional Automation Engineer to lead high-level control system support across a region of sites. You will engage in commissioning, on-call support, continuous improvement, project management, and SOP development, using data analytics and KPI reporting to improve reliability and efficiency.

You will travel extensively (up to 80%), collaborate with manufacturing teams, and drive best practices in automation technology and safety across multiple Amazon facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7+ years in PLC programming or automation engineering.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
• 7+ years in industrial controls and automation.
• 7+ years diagnosing PLC-controlled automation in production settings.
• 7+ years in robotics work cells and control systems.
• 7+ years ladder logic with Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys.
• 7+ years electrical theory and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot material handling control systems and drive engineering improvements.
• Provide SME support to region of onsite automation engineers.
• Develop PLC/PC solutions and SCADA/OEE integrations.
• Lead projects coordinating site automation engineers to meet goals.
• Create KPIs to monitor efficiency, availability, and quality of machines.
• Collaborate with vendors and senior leadership on technical resolutions.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support across multiple sites.
• Travel up to 80% to support sites.
