Job summary

Foster Farms in California seeks a Master Level refrigeration technician to observe, repair and optimize ammonia, HVAC, ice making and related systems. You will supervise hourly staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and uphold safety and food quality standards.

Candidates should have 5+ years refrigeration experience or equivalent, plus HAZMAT and PSM training, strong English communication, and ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces. Weekend/rotating shifts required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in refrigeration or equivalent course plus three years experience
• HAZMAT 40-hour training and certificate
• Annual PSM refresher training
• Able to troubleshoot and correct in emergencies
• Good written and verbal English communications
• Self-motivated, minimal supervision
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work from a ladder
• Able to work in confined spaces and pass SCBA exam
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Freon system certification
• Weekend and rotating shifts
• Criminal background check required

Responsibilities

• Perform duties at Master Level including adjustments/repairs to ammonia, HVAC, ice maker, and related systems
• Monitor and adjust product cooler temperatures
• Coordinate PMs and supervise/assist hourly employees
• Support department goals regarding quality, productivity, cost, and safety
• Organize staffing and adjust as needed
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and food handling standards
• Complete paperwork as required by supervisor
