Job summary

Foster Farms in California is seeking a skilled Night Shift Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain two-stage ammonia and refrigeration systems under direction of a Watch Engineer and Supervisors. You will perform preventive maintenance, rebuild and repair equipment, and document readings to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Candidate must have a 2-year Industrial Refrigeration certification (preferred), read manuals, lift 50+ pounds, and be able to work all shifts with overtime.

Shift: Night Shift

Job Description:

• Maintain and operate two stage ammonia systems, boiler systems, air systems, main water systems and their subsidiary equipment in a safe, efficient and competent manner under the direction of a Watch Engineer.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and re-build equipment as necessary, while under the direction of a Refrigeration or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment while under the supervision of a Refrigeration or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Ensure all refrigeration equipment is functioning in a safe and optimal manner. Monitor and record all readings to document operations, while under the direction of Refrigeration and Maintenance supervision. Report all discrepancies immediately to the refrigeration Leadperson or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2 Year Industrial Refrigeration certification preferred
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision
• Must be able to work under the supervision of a Watch Engineer
• Must be able to work with other Refrigeration and Maintenance personnel
• Must posses a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
• Must be able to be certified for the use of a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Must be able to be certified for use of an Air Purifying Respirator (APR)
• Must be able to document shift equipment issues in Log
• Must be able to perform basic math functions and formulas
• Must be able to bend and stoop
• Must be able to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
• Must be able to work from high altitudes, catwalks and roofs
• Must be able to work on wet concrete floor, walk and stoop for prolonged periods of times
• Must be able to work all shifts as may be required

• Must be fully responsible and have the ability to make correct and timely decisions

• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and times dictated by production/equipment requirements/needs
• Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
