Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a Refrigeration Installation / Startup Technician to perform startup and functionality checks on newly installed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will interface with customers, document work, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth startup and commissioning of building automation and refrigeration systems.

The role requires reading plans, installing controls, and repairing equipment.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Physically able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and functionality checks on newly installed HVAC, plumbing and electrical components, equipment and systems.
• Complete documentation and coordinate with managers, customers and vendors.
• Explain work performed to customers and assist with startup and commissioning of building automation and refrigeration systems.
• Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, sensors and controllers as per plans.
• Read and interpret plans, schematics, and blueprints relevant to installations.
• Lead and mentor Start-Up Technicians with less experience to improve skills.
• Maintain truck inventory and ensure proper vehicle upkeep.
