Job summary

ASHRAE seeks a Senior Refrigeration Engineer to lead the design and execution of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, taking full ownership from concept to construction.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with clients and partners, ensure quality and urgency, and help grow ASHRAE's refrigeration capabilities through innovation and best practices.

This role requires deep expertise, the ability to work under pressure, and strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in refrigeration system design.
• Authorization to work in the US. No visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
• Perform system selection, load calculations, equipment sizing, and energy analysis.
• Develop accurate, code-compliant construction documents.
• Apply codes, standards, and best practices to all design work.
• Conduct facility assessments, site verifications, and existing system evaluations.
• Take ownership of refrigeration scope from concept through construction completion.
• Manage multiple projects and overlapping schedules.
• Perform quality assurance reviews for accuracy and completeness.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration.
• Ensure designs align with client expectations.
