Job summary

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects seeks an experienced refrigeration design engineer to lead the design of supermarket and commercial refrigeration systems. The role requires strong code knowledge and collaboration with project teams to ensure compliant, efficient solutions.

You will oversee design reviews, QA processes, and client interactions while mentoring junior staff and delivering against tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of refrigeration design experience required.
• Excellent knowledge of discipline codes and building codes.
• PE license preferred or EIT pursuing PE.

Responsibilities

• Meet with project team to discuss schedule, budget, phasing, site issues and design review.
• Review preliminary/final designs with other disciplines for function and coordination.
• Provide client contact and maintain professional integrity.
• Perform QA on projects with technical manager or project engineer.
• Lead and educate team members; meet fast-paced deadlines.
• Additional duties as required.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license

EIT pursuing PE

Associate degree in Refrigeration design
