Job summary

Emanuelson-Podas is seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer to join our team in Minnesota. You will lead and assist on refrigeration system design, coordinate with clients, and ensure code-compliant, efficient designs while meeting deadlines.

The role requires strong initiative, collaboration, and the ability to oversee multiple priorities, including overtime when necessary. Proficiency with EP standards and related software is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in refrigeration system design.
• Authorization to work in the US. No visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Assist and lead owner in making informed decisions on refrigeration systems.
• Offer responsive construction administration services.
• Meet project deadlines, this may require overtime hours.
• Manage multiple priorities, both internal and external.
• Fully understand and enforce EP drafting standards.
• Gain trust with clients contributing to an increase share of wallet.
• Develop accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and efficient designs.
• Utilize company software to complete tasks and manage staff accurately, effectively, and on time.
• Communicate effectively with staff and other design professionals.
• Perform routine project quality assurance checks and use as opportunity to train junior staff.
• Mentor less experience staff to help them develop on projects.
• Perform facility assessments and site verifications.
• Compose schematic design, code response, and addendum narratives, utilizing junior staff where possible.
• Make EP better - specifications, processes, details, code knowledge, etc.
• Accurately, efficiently size and lay out all aspects of refrigeration systems on floor plans, schedules, and details.
• This includes refrigeration load calculations, energy calculations, refrigerant charge calculations, and refrigeration control design.
• Review of existing equipment and evaluating existing/new.
• Construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI's, site inspections, and reports.
• Accurately, efficiently size and lay out all aspects of refrigeration systems on floor plans, schedules, and details. This includes sizing and layout of refrigerant piping, evaporators, compressors, control valves, and condensers.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will entail working at a fast pace and will require working cooperatively with people to complete tasks.
