Job summary

Calumet Specialty Products Partners L.P. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to provide technical expertise for day-to-day and longer-term refinery activities.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement to reduce waste and enhance profitability across the refinery. The successful candidate will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, Safety, and other departments, supervise process design initiatives, and mentor engineers in tools like simulation and sizing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of process engineering experience (10+ preferred in refinery).
• Hands-on experience with process design, emissions calculations, relief sizing and process simulation.
• Expertise in fractionation and hydroprocessing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and build/internal partnerships with refinery departments and other locations.
• Provide technical guidance to unit engineers on data interpretation and troubleshooting.
• Serve as technical authority on operating limits and drive continuous improvement.
• Coach entry-level engineers on process engineering tools (simulation, sizing, etc).
• Perform process design for refinery improvements and develop economic justifications.
