Job summary

Brindley Engineering is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design and oversee electrical systems for refinery capital projects in Texas. You will support field teams, develop standards, and ensure equipment availability and reliability through expert problem solving.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and strong leadership. Experience with high voltage systems and NFPA codes is preferred, with oversight across multiple projects and commissioning

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
10+ years of related experience.
P.E. licensure preferred.
SAP, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation skills; familiarity with the internet.
Ability to manage assigned projects under limited supervision.
Working with high voltage equipment and substations up to 138 kV preferred.
Experience mentoring and leading teams.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design moderately complex electrical systems for capital projects and specify equipment.
Support field technicians with complex problems during project execution.
Develop and modify refinery electrical standards with NFPA codes and vendor input.
Develop turnaround work and ensure scope is captured in early phases.
Provide calculations and settings for UPS, motors, transformers, relays, and substation equipment.
Act as electrical SME for projects with electrical scope, including compressor controls upgrades.
Review and approve system studies for refinery up to 138 kV and update SKM models.
Update refinery documentation for electrical modifications and one-lines.
Review IFA packages and direct EPCs to follow client standards.
Assist maintenance during unplanned events with technical expertise.
