Job summary

Brindley Engineering seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design and oversee electrical systems for refinery capital projects. You will define standards, supervise installation, and support maintenance teams with complex field issues, ensuring reliability and safety.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with vendors, and ensure conformance to NFPA codes and client standards. A strong background in high voltage distribution and project leadership is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of related experience
• P.E. preferred
• Experience mentoring and leading teams
• Experience with high voltage equipment and substations up to 138 kV
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design moderately complex electrical systems for capital projects for all electrical distribution equipment and substation specifications.
• Support Maintenance Technicians with complex field problems during project execution; assist in training.
• Develop refinery electrical standards with vendors' recommendations and NFPA codes.
• Develop Turnaround work and ensure scope captured in conceptual phase.
• Provide calculations/settings for UPS, motors, transformers, relays, etc.
• Act as electrical SME for capital projects with electrical scope.
• Review studies for refinery up to 138 kV; update SKM model as needed.
• Update refinery documentation for electrical modifications.
• Review IFA packages and direct EPCs to client standards.
• Assist maintenance during unplanned events.
