Job summary

Inversion is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Reentry, to own new product introduction manufacturing and integration tasks across multiple vehicle programs. You will bridge design and flight hardware, establishing assembly standards and workflows for primary structures, TPS, and complex interfaces.

You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate with the centralized production team to keep vehicles built safely, repeatedly, and on schedule on-site at Inversion HQ in Playa Vista, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing, hardware integration, structural assembly, or vehicle-level build environments.
• Proven experience authoring detailed assembly procedures, managing build configurations, and driving floor execution.
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or GSE in CAD and applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Direct experience with structural bonding, composite assembly, mechanical fastening, or TPS integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and contribute to vehicle program assembly and integration processes, focusing on new product introduction and protoqualification hardware.
• Author, review, and approve detailed manufacturing work instructions and integration checklists.
• Design, procure, and qualify vehicle integration tooling and ground support equipment using CAD.
• Lead disposition of floor non-conformances and perform root-cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with internal work centers to schedule part deliveries and subassembly integration.
• Establish standard practices for precision joints, fasteners, adhesives, and interfaces.
