Job summary

AmerisourceBergen Corporation (Cencora) seeks an Engineer III, Red Team to plan, execute, and report cyber attack simulations against critical assets. You will emulate adversaries to test detection, prevention, and response capabilities and translate findings into defensive improvements.

You will lead complex Red Team campaigns, develop tooling, and collaborate with Threat Intelligence and Incident Response to validate defenses across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 4 years dedicated to Red Team operations, advanced penetration testing, or offensive security research.
• Advanced knowledge of Red Team engagement lifecycle and advanced penetration testing methodologies.
• Expertise with common red team toolsets (Cobalt Strike, Nighthawk C2, Metasploit, Evilginx) and custom implant scripting.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, OS internals (Windows, Linux, MacOS), cloud security, and defensive security technologies.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK mapping for adversary emulation.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Go, PowerShell).
• Proven ability to execute large-scale enterprise Red Team simulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute covert Red Team operations from initial access to high-value objectives.
• Develop, customize, and deploy offensive tooling and implants to bypass controls.
• Conduct vulnerability research, assessments, and social engineering campaigns.
• Collaborate with Cyber Threat Intelligence to mirror real adversaries.
• Produce executive summaries detailing findings and remediation priorities.
• Lead Purple Team exercises with Incident Response to validate detection and response.
• Present findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
• Stay current with offensive technologies and adversary TTPs.
