Job summary

AlphaGov seeks an experienced Executive Recruiter to lead an executive director search for a public pension organization. You will collaborate with leadership and the governing board to identify candidates with retirement-system operations experience.

You will build a targeted pool across public retirement systems, engage executives through outreach, assess governance and member-service experience, and guide the client through shortlists and finalist decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience recruiting executive directors for public pension bodies.
• Established relationships within the public retirement-system community.
• Understanding pension governance and the distinction between executive management and investments.
• Experience advising boards or executive search committees.
• Strong research, candidate assessment, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define executive director’s responsibilities, leadership priorities, and required experience with the client.
• Build a targeted candidate pool across public retirement systems and relevant pension organizations.
• Engage qualified executives through direct outreach and professional networks.
• Assess candidates’ experience in pension administration, board relations, organizational management, and member service.
• Prepare candidate assessments and guide the client through shortlist and finalist decisions.
• Coordinate interviews, references, background reviews, and offer discussions.
• Maintain milestones, candidate communication, and regular reporting throughout the search.
