Job summary

City of Dunedin is seeking a Recreation Leader II to plan, promote, and supervise recreational programs and events for the community. The role involves coordinating with other departments, managing volunteers, and ensuring safety and compliance with city policies.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with college coursework in a relevant field, plus at least one year of recreation experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus some college coursework in a relevant field.
• Minimum one year of experience in recreation programming/event planning/promotions & operations.
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) required.
• Strong customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, promotion/marketing and evaluation of programs and events.
• Present and/or supervise recreational programming in assigned areas; coordinate with City departments, agencies and the public.
• Open and close facility; may require nights and weekends.
• Supervise volunteers; provide input, advice and assistance as needed.
• Maintain health and safety of participants; administer CPR/First Aid as necessary.
• Assist in supervising youth programming and communicate with parents/guardians.
