Job summary

City of Orlando Careers is seeking a Recreation Assistant Supervisor to perform specialized work in recreation and leisure services. You will lead, supervise, and officiate at a variety of sports, games, and programs, under general supervision.

You may assist in the design and conduct of recreation programs and may oversee a city-wide program at multiple centers. Work includes outdoor duties in heat, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. certificate and two years of experience in organized recreation, leisure services, school-based or youth development programs required.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required at the time of application.
• Polygraph and criminal background check required.
• Some college coursework desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and officiate at a variety of sports, games, and programs.
• Assist in administrative procedures involved in the design and conduct of recreation programs.
• May be responsible for a City of Orlando-wide program and may work at several centers of different levels.
• Exercise initiative and independent judgment in planning and conducting playground or center activities for all ages.
