Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Recreation Center Associate to support programs for older adults at the Center for Active Adults. Starting pay is $15.95 per hour and the schedule includes mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will help plan activities, keep attendance, greet participants, and ensure safety per OSHA standards. A High School Diploma or GED and a valid NC driver’s license are required, with 18+ age minimum.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with other employees and the public.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide and implement stimulating recreational programs for older adults, creating a safe environment, and encourage participation.
• Assist in planning activities by suggesting ideas and utilizing community resources.
• Maintain daily attendance records for all registered participants.
• Greet participants and provide excellent customer service.
• Drive the community van as needed.
• Enforce center policies and safety rules and regulations.
• Register participants via recreation software.
