The City of La Mirada is looking for a part-time Community Services Supervisor to assist in planning and managing various recreational programs. The position requires excellent customer service, leadership skills, and a high school diploma. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in recreation and be available for evening and weekend shifts.

Minimum Qualifications
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of: The fundamentals, rules and regulations of various youth, adult, and senior recreation programs and activities; policies, procedures, and regulations governing conduct and safety of persons using equipment and facilities. Methods, practices, and equipment used in maintaining an effective recreational program; CPR, AED, and First Aid safety practices; Recreation Activity Management Software; graphics programs; English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and composition. Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, community groups, staff, and other agencies. Prepare and deliver oral and written reports. Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact. Delegate tasks to staff and volunteers. Utilize Windows-based software. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Experience And Education
Experience: Two years of related recreation experience, including one year of supervisory experience. Experience with youth, adult, and senior programs preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field preferred.
License Or Certificate
Valid California Driver License required. CPR, AED, and First Aid certificates must be obtained within the first month of employment (certification provided by the City).

The City offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Appointments are normally made at the first step of a five-step salary range, with one year of City service required to advance to the next step.
