Qualifications

• Education: Basic Activity Education Course and two years of current work experience in Activity department of a long-term care facility.
• Experience: 3–5 years of geriatric activity experience preferred.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing long-term care activity programs.
• Knowledge of professional activity standards and volunteerism.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily activity programming meeting residents' physical, emotional, intellectual, community, spiritual, and social needs.
• Prepare and carry out activities across varied ability levels.
• Ensure daily activity schedule is followed and documented.
• Coach and empower staff and ensure cross-department coordination.
