Job summary

Taylor Defense Products, Louisville, KY, seeks a Senior Rebuild Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy lift equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will follow schematics and maintain records, using diagnostic tools and 5S practices.

Minimum five years of heavy equipment mechanic experience, ability to read blueprints, and willingness to develop detailed work instructions for process improvement. Auto mechanic certification preferred; tools provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Five years heavy equipment mechanic experience.
• Electrical diagnostics experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and other technical material.
• Must be willing to help create detailed work instruction for continuous improvement.
• Personal mechanic tools required; specialized tools provided by company.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality mechanical functions safely.
• Disassemble and retrofit heavy lift equipment (mechanical, lift, drive train, low voltage, hydraulic).
• Follow instructions, schematics, and blueprints.
• Utilize part identification and inventory control systems.
• Perform repair functions using hand tools and diagnostic instruments.
• Operate heavy equipment to inspect, troubleshoot, and test; maintain records.
