Job summary

Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS) seeks a Software Dev Engineer III to design and build real-time video delivery at scale. You’ll work on WebRTC components to support millions of concurrent viewers with sub-second latency and collaborate across teams on architecture decisions.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and help shape streaming infrastructure while staying current with industry standards and new protocols.

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming in at least one language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
Knowledge of at least two languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
Deep understanding of WebRTC signaling, ICE, DTLS, SRTP, and media negotiation.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Contributions to open-source networking or media projects.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize high-performance WebRTC distribution components with millions of viewers and sub-second latency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve real-time media delivery architecture.
Contribute to protocol design for low-latency transport mechanisms like MoQ and other protocols.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling and data-driven analysis.
Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, participate in on-call rotations, and document decisions.
