Job summary

Schwab in Austin is seeking a Senior Software Development & Engineering Lead to drive modernization of engineering platforms and services, enabling cloud adoption and AI‑enabled engineering practices across the firm.

You will mentor engineers, shape API design and security, and collaborate with product owners and owners across global teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve developer productivity and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications.
• 5+ years designing and implementing APIs, distributed systems, integrations, or microservice‑based architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or similar backend technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support enterprise platforms, services, and integrations for software delivery.
• Lead modernization initiatives including cloud adoption and engineering platform evolution.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver business value.
