Job summary

Point One Navigation seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own architectures and designs for major system components. You will translate high-level goals into concrete architectures, APIs, test plans, and schedules with minimal supervision across embedded and Linux targets.

You will build platform tooling, real-time systems, and HITL/testing infrastructure, collaborating with R&D to push centimeter-level positioning capabilities forward. Hybrid in San Francisco based role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development with ownership of architecture
• Expert-level modern C++ (C++20+), cross-platform experience
• Experience deploying cross-domain systems integrating hardware and software
• Hands-on with real-time/hardware debugging
• Strong Python for tooling and automation
• BS/MS/PhD in CS/CE/EE or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Own software architecture and design for core navigation engine and platform
• Build and evolve platform infrastructure, tooling, and APIs
• Develop and debug real-time systems on embedded and Linux targets
• Lead testing, HITL, and post-processing infrastructure improvements
• Collaborate with R&D to advance sensor fusion and navigation algorithms
