Job summary

Southwest Power Pool is seeking a Lead Functional Coordinator in Little Rock, AR to provide technical leadership to real-time operations staff and mentor operators across functional lines. The role emphasizes consistency between shifts and strong decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant industry experience with no degree
• 10 years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree
• 9 years of relevant industry experience with an undergraduate degree specific to electrical power system operations
• NERC RC Certification within 90 Days Required
• Bachelor’s Degree specific to electrical power system operations
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Advanced knowledge of EMS, OASIS, and scheduling tools

Responsibilities

• Display in-depth knowledge of industry concepts and communicate to real-time Operations staff
• Lead analysis for Integrated Marketplace, Balancing Authority, Reliability, Tariff/Scheduling
• Provide SME support for customer relations and other functional areas
• Coordinate with Functional Analysts for timely reports for SPP System Operations (FERC, NERC, SPP, etc.)
• Perform or lead Root Cause Analysis studies of operational events
• Identify issues with Operations staff to improve processes and reduce risks
• Maintain BA process and procedure documents reflecting best practices
• Provide primary operator support for desk functions and high-risk events
