Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for News Engineering to advance real-time news delivery and scalable services. You’ll focus on low-latency Java/Python components, cloud-native architecture, and performance observability in a global, distributed team.

You’ll own architecture decisions, contribute to deployment automation, and help push the boundaries of high-throughput systems in a dynamic environment with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Java and Python on Linux and real‑time systems.
• Familiarity with IP-based protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTPS).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch and related search technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of critical services from architecture decisions through production support.
• Collaborate in a scrum team to craft solutions and deliver new features.
• Automate deployment, upgrades, and maintenance using modern DevOps practices.
• Participate in a well‑structured on‑call rotation focused on reliability and sustainability.
