Job summary

General Atomics is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design and implement software for control systems in demanding environments. The role requires strong C/C++/C#, Python test automation skills, and experience with real-time operating systems, embedded hardware debugging, and test data analysis.

The candidate will conduct functional testing, investigate issues, document findings, and communicate results to project teams.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering or a related technical discipline with four+ years of experience for a bachelor’s degree or two+ years for a master's degree; equivalent engineering experience may substitute for education.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and C#, Python test automation experience, familiarity with real-time operating systems and embedded systems, hardware-software debugging ability, and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for control systems and analyze, investigate, and resolve software and control-system problems.
• Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting; analyze test data, document findings and solutions, and communicate results.
