Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Albuquerque, NM to set the technical direction for software supporting electro-mechanical-optical experiments. You will own the architecture for testbeds, data acquisition, and optical tracking systems spanning software, controls, hardware, and networks.

You will lead major development efforts from requirements through field test, work with government researchers, and drive DevOps practices while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/CE with relevant experience.
Hands-on software engineering in C/C++ on Linux systems.
Security clearance eligibility (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

Own software architecture for testbeds and optical tracking systems.
Design, develop, integrate and test C/C++ software in Linux.
Define objectives with government researchers and translate to software plans.
Develop real-time and embedded software with SBC I/O interfaces.
Lead data acquisition, reduction, and analysis tools and DevOps practices.
Plan and lead field tests; mentor junior engineers and ensure quality.
Communicate progress and risks to government customers and vendors.
