Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Albuquerque, NM to define the software direction for testbeds and optical tracking systems. You will own architecture, lead development from requirements to field tests, and work with researchers on electro-mechanical-optical experiments.

The role requires hands-on C/C++ in Linux, real-time/embedded software, MATLAB/Simulink, and the ability to obtain Secret clearance. You will mentor staff and coordinate with government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/CE with required years of experience.
• Hands-on software engineering and development experience.
• C/C++ software in Linux environment experience.
• MATLAB/Simulink experience.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the software architecture for testbeds and optical tracking systems, and lead design, development, integration, and testing of C/C++ software in Linux.
• Translate test objectives into software requirements, architecture, and development plans for electro-mechanical-optical experiments.
• Design and develop real-time and embedded software, including SBC applications and hardware I/O interfaces.
• Lead data acquisition, data reduction, and analysis tools, including MATLAB/Simulink models.
• Establish software test and validation strategy, DevOps pipelines, and engineering practices.
• Plan and lead integration and field testing, resolve cross-domain problems, and enhance software from field results.
• Serve as technical lead, mentor junior staff, ensure quality and maintainability.
• Communicate progress, risks, and solutions to Government customers and external partners.
• Demonstrate independent and team-based work, quick learning, clear communication, and strong organization.
